PROCESS
In this section you will work your way through the materials provided. At this stage, you should have chosen what side you are on and start thinking about the arguments you will use to defend your position. One of you will be student 1 and will oppose the rise in tuition fees. The other one, will be student 2 and will be in favor of the rise.
You will have to watch videos and read texts to get as much information as you can on the subject of tuition fees. Instructions or questions will be given in the web quest for you to know what to do when watching the videos or when reading the texts.
You will also find tools meant to help you with new vocabulary, the pronunciation of some words you might find difficult and even some sites in which you'll find useful expressions that could help you for the final debate.
After collecting all necessary information, you will come to class and will have a debate with your pair for a duration of 20 minutes. You will have to find an agreement (or not...) at the end of your debate. In this debate student 1 will try to convince the Dean of a School of Pharmacy in England to decrease tuition fees from September and student 2 will, on the contrary, try to convince student 1 of the benefits he could draw from a rise in tuition fees in terms of teaching quality.
Are you ready?
